Christine and Ian are a gorgeous couple who have been together for many years. When we met Christine at their home, we immediately bonded with her over the fact that we have dogs, cats and parrots just like their household! Christine and Ian share a passion for the country and for ‘muscle cars’. It didn’t take much to combine both of these things into a beautiful country Victorian wedding. We were thoroughly stoked that they chose us to photograph their big day.

We have had our fair share of awesome wedding cars lately. There has been a bit of a trend this year towards high-performance sports cars, so Ian was so thrilled when he had managed to book “Eleanor” for the day. Must Have Mustangs have done a great job building a little army of Eleanor GT500’s. Ian was beside himself when this one rolled up! Somehow, the brooding weather made Eleanor’s sleek gunmetal colour shine even more intensely, though I don’t think anything shone more than the smile on Ian’s face! Christine had a room at The Cleveland winery. She got ready with the help from a small number of friends and relatives. Somehow Christine had managed to keep her dress from being seen by her mum. Her gorgeous beaded and sequinned short sleeved dress was far from traditional wedding fare – and was both flattering and striking! We simply loved the reaction on Mum’s face when Christine showed her the dress for the first time! Capturing moments like these make our work so special. Soon enough, it was time for her dad to walk her through the gorgeous gardens and head up to the chapel. Ian and their guests were patiently waiting, overlooking the acres of peaceful vineyards. Country Victorian wedding photography is always such a breath of fresh air!

We get to see all sorts of ceremonies as wedding photographers in Melbourne. This time, we witnessed a simple yet beautiful example of a ceremony that was really written from the heart. There were a few happy tears from some relatives and even some from the gorgeous groom.

Before we knew it, we were outside again with a pair of joy-filled newlyweds and their delighted nearest and dearest. After taking family photo combinations in front of “Eleanor” and the vineyards, we had a good amount of time to take portraits and candid shots of the happy couple. They were such a fun pair to photograph. We spent a few hours wandering around making the most of the beautiful estate. The old buildings gave lovely warmth and character as backdrops. The old homestead of this estate dates back to the 1890s, yet the quality and design of the newer suites somehow fit seamlessly within the old-world atmosphere. We processed Christine and Ian’s wedding photos with a vintage Kodak feel to match the venue. What a perfect place for a rustic country Victorian wedding!

Under the barn at The Cleveland winery sits a bar called the Vigneron Room. For the intimate size of Christine and Ian’s reception, this room was perfect. It also doubled as a place for the guests to have nibbles and drinks while we took bridal portraits. It’s a well appointed, excellently staffed bar, and the food was just amazing. We were so happy to stay for the party! We wish Christine and Ian all the very best for the next chapter of their lives together!
