Arpan and Chandni had a fairytale vibe about them on the morning of their wedding. Nothing could faze them and they had eyes only for each other. They had spent several months in a long-distance relationship and Chandni had only been back in the country for a few days. There were lots of lingering looks, cheeky grins and giggly hand-holding… all of which make for a wedding photographer’s dream! An Indian wedding in Melbourne is usually a bigger affair than this – the intimacy of this day was in contrast to what one might have expected. Their ceremony was later in the afternoon but this couple wanted to make the most of the glorious sunshine and have photos in as many of their favourite places as possible.
The Royal Botanic Gardens were our first stop for the couple and our photography team. The smell of warm grass filled the air and Chandni was all to happy to pose with the beautiful blooms which complemented her gorgeous dress. We could all feel that this was only the start of a fun-filled and exciting day. This couple were committed to putting as much time and energy into beautiful wedding photography as their schedule could possibly allow!
AN INDIAN WEDDING IN MELBOURNE
An Indian wedding in Melbourne, at the Treasury? Yep! That’s precisely how Arpan and Chandni wanted it, so we were off to see the happy couple exchange vows in the Old Treasury Building. These two were so excited to be finally tying the knot. Their families were clearly so thrilled to see these two love-birds so happy together.
Then we zipped across town to devote some time to beach wedding photography. St Kilda beach is always so great to jump around on with a happy couple and their bridal party – no matter what the weather! This occasion was no exception, and we took many portraits of other couples from the family, as well as our beautiful bride and groom.
The reception was a delightful Indian banquet at Tandoori Flames in West Footscray. We really enjoyed the warm, friendly nature of the entire group, and we were so thrilled to deliver several hundred photos to this gorgeous couple. Their commitment to spending time and energy prioritising their photography on their big day made such a difference! We wish the newly-weds all the best for their future as husband and wife.
