SANDRINGHAM BEACH WEDDING

Laura and Liam tied the knot in a beautiful beach wedding in November. Their Sandringham beach wedding was magnificently styled, and perfectly executed. They were so lucky with the weather, and we were so lucky that they chose us to photograph their wedding!

WEDDING PREPARATION TAKES TIME

Getting ready for your wedding is one of the best times you can have. In Melbourne, there are so many options for your wedding it can sometimes be overwhelming to find exactly the right style and venue for you. Coupled with the almost unlimited options for wedding photography locations it is easy to become daunted. The trick is to make sure that you plan with your photographer for the best light at the location that you desire. It is also advisable to leave as much time for your bridal portraits that you can. That way everyone is relaxed and not in a rush. Laura and Liam were so well organised. They knew what they wanted early, and planned a long time in advance. They also left plenty of time to get ready in the morning – something that we as wedding photographers can’t stress enough!

CARLTON GARDENS FIRST LOOK – MELBOURNE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Laura and Liam had their hearts set on a first look in Melbourne’s Carlton Gardens. We find our brides are pretty much divided on whether or not to do a first look before the ceremony. Some like to wait until they walk down the aisle for the big reveal. Personally we love the idea! It takes a lot of the pressure off before the ceremony, makes for great photos and also allows the couple to shoot some photos together before the ceremony. Laura and Liam’s first look was just stunning. It was late enough in the day that the light was perfect coming through the trees at the Royal Exhibition Building. As Laura snuck up behind Liam, his sense of anticipation was palpable! The photos turned out almost as gorgeous as this beautiful couple!

MELBOURNE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY – SANDRINGHAM YACHT CLUB

After the first look, it was time to head to the yacht club for the ceremony. Fortunately the Melbourne weather had held out for this couple, and they were able to have their ceremony on the balcony of the yacht club overlooking the ocean as they had planned. This Sandringham beach wedding was just a glorious setting. Laura and Liam couldn’t have planned it any better. The smell of the ocean and the beautiful backdrop made these Melbourne wedding photographers very happy to have been chosen to photograph this stunning wedding.

SANDRINGHAM BEACH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

The Sandringham yacht club is located just 15 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD. It is a perfect beach-side location, with a lovely west facing beach in case you get a sunset. It’s not hard to steal away from your wedding reception to the shore so that you can capture some beautiful sunset wedding photography. The reception centre is just gorgeous, with wall to ceiling windows that look out over the ocean so you can watch the sun set as you celebrate your wedding day with friends and relatives.

SUNSET WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN MELBOURNE

The eastern side of Port Phillip Bay has so many beautiful west facing beaches. It is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world to watch the sun go down. Good planning increases your chances of stunning wedding photography ten-fold. Laura and Liam simply nailed it. In consultation with us, they realised that the hour between 7:45pm and 8:45pm was going to be the perfect time for a sunset photography shoot. They duly blocked out a big section in the middle of their reception so that we could head to the beach and take their final formal portraits for the day. The weather obliged, and their photos turned out exactly as we hoped they would!

WEDDING RECEPTION AT SANDRINGHAM YACHT CLUB

With the formalities over (including the best backdrop for speeches we have ever seen) it was time to party! The food at this grand old yacht club was absolutely to die for. The drinks were free-flowing and the band kept everyone grooving long into the night. These Melbourne wedding photographers had a wonderful time with this lovely couple at this famous venue, and we look forward to photographing another Sandringham beach wedding there soon!
